Discovering the Science behind High Performance
High Performance Development and New Place Conference Centre will be hosting an inspiring Leadership seminar that explores aircraft crew management, Mathew Syed’s Black Box Thinking and Damian Cottle’s first hand experiences from the aviation world. The interactive masterclass will relate these lessons to the challenges your organisation faces in today’s competitive and challenging environment.
Damian Cottle has 15 years and thousands of hours of flying experience as a pilot with British Airways. In this seminar he will draw on his own experience, as well as using dramatic footage, alongside examples and case studies from the aviation industry that make a compelling case for a seismic change in the way many of our professions , institutions and organisations are run, and indeed the way we respon d to mistakes in our day to day lives.
Damian will encourage you to question the validity of your assumptions about what works and what doesn't, as well as commonly held perceptions of success and failure.
He will focus on key areas such as decision making, error management and a positive reporting culture. Damian will demonstrate why good communication, open reporting and honest evaluation are critical to continual improvement and success and how the aviation industry has confronted failure and learnt from mistakes, making ying the safest form of travel in the world today. Damian’s thought-provoking, insightful and interactive session demonstrates our need to challenge commonly held beliefs and even embrace failure, because that is critical to ongoing development and ultimate success.
